MY REACTION: Montalban

Based on the reading selection, I agree about Malthus statement that we should implement a law about the population control on poor people. These people should know the effects if they continue producing life. They should know that many effects will come in their lives including FOOD SHORTAGE which is the primary reason why some people often commit crimes. One effect also is the AIR POLLUTION. If our air will be polluted our environment won't be friendly anymore. Some of us will easily get sick which causes us not to work for a while. It will cause trouble to those who depend to their jobs. We all know that our body is very important, we should know how to take care of it. Lastly, the SPACE SHORTAGE. Some of us are suffering because of space shortage. Some will live under the bridges and others live near the trails which is dangerous especially to the children. To the government, they should act now before our problems will be worsen. Malthus is right in many ways but it's still up to the people if what path they will follow...to the GOOD or BAD...!

It is stated in the blog that rapid population is one of the main reasons why a particular country is decreasing its economic status. Yes it is, population growth will always tend to outrun the food supply and shelter. Our basic needs will be reduced if rapid population will increase.

Rapid population growth has several economic consequences. It requires heavier investment in education, health, and transport merely to maintain these services at their previous level; yet, the working population has a higher burden of dependence to support, making both individual and national saving more difficult. Although population growth is not the only problem dividing rich and poor countries, it is one important variable that has widened the gap in growth in per capita income between developed and developing nations.

When it comes to birth control I think it would be a step to minimize and balance our society. Advocates of birth control see it as a means to prevent the personal and social pressures that result from rapid population growth. With this it we would be able to support our family, and even help others also.

We must be aware of what is happening in our society, especially in the matter of increasing population. When it comes to this, we may be able to help each and everyone to cope with this kind of matter. We must balance our population so that we mat be able to have balance and prosperous economy.

This article talks about the reproductive health, population policy and so on. In short this article talks about population control.
Nowadays, the prices of the products are getting higher and higher. And due to this crisis many people needs job to support daily needs. And also many people in this time didn’t mind what kind of jobs there’re in. Even selling there bodies just to live.
Teenagers today are so liberated. They need a sex education to inform them the effects and disadvantage in early pregnancy. This may cause overpopulation, shortage illness to woman and of course poverty.
There are some ways to prevent the population explosion. Just like:
Contraceptives can help in controlling the population explosion.
Sex education – this is very helpful to us students to know the effects and disadvantage of the population explosion.
And most of all self-respect. If you have respect to the opposite sex of course there will be no interaction will occur and it can help the growing of population.
By these ways it can help the society.

What was Malthus theory? His theory talks about the population explosion.Population explosion is the rapid and dramatic rise of the population. He based his theory on the population explosion that was already becoming evident in the 18th century. and are argued that the number of people would increase than the food supply. Population would eventually reach a resource limit.Any further increase would result in a population crash, caused by famine, disease or war. Malthus was optimistic about the outcome and suggested that only 'moral restraint' could prevent crisis. Montalvan's article was once focus on the population explosion and the decrease of the food supply due to the crisis facing on one's country. We all now that our country, the Philippines is in need in terms of our economic status. Many people are not the the proper profession. In that case how can we progress or support our economic status if we are not doing well in the people that give rise the the economy. Population was exploded nowadays not only in the Philippines but also in different country. There are a lot of people but no food supply. This was cause due the rise of population. Example was NFA rise the government was selling. Many people cannot afford to buy the commercial rise, so they keep in falling line everyday just to but a kilo of rise. If we have a lot of food supply, people wont be falling line. Governmennt must see what was the counry is facing for. There are a lot of thing that can solve the problem of our country. we must just work together to achieve the country's goal and that we may live the life that is full of enjoyment and not on worry to fall in line just to get a kilo of rice.
Population expolsion was not the biggest problem in the country, it's just part of a little.

According to Malthus Theory, Projection of population growth, he based his theory on the population explosion that was already becoming evident in the 18th century, and argued that the number of people would increase faster than the food supply. Population would eventually reach a resource limit (overpopulation). Any further increase would result in a population crash. Malthus was not optimistic about the outcome and suggested that only ‘moral restraint’ (birth control) could prevent crisis.

It tells about the population growth here in philippines, the population expansion then goes to abortion. It states that the increase of population will lead to economic problems such as running out food supplies and the basic commodities. It is good that we will control the population growth. But we must put a limitations to the use of reproductive health, artificial contraceptive and etc. because it is simply a catch-all jargon that includes abortion and it may have negative effects to the health of women. And there are some factors that we will include especially the government which is responsible for control. It states also that population is simply not the solution to povety.

Therefore, in the article i have read all of the information stated in the article, can never do a great help and can never be considered as the best solution for rising the economic status here in the Philippines. Economic rise can be achieved if we must start educating the people and disciplining ourselves to become a more responsible citizen. Economic growth and economic status is not only based on the population's growth. The government has the power to control the population but it only depends on how they take actions with that. It also true that our country now is in crisis some of the people hard to find job. And some also are lazy, some are depend on the government. This article is really good to read to know the flow of economical status, the population growth and etc.

I think that Malthus theory, the “moral restraint and vice”, is unacceptable to our society. Late marriage and sexual abstinence could still be considerable. But advocating infanticides, murder, contraception and homosexuality is such a hideous thing. This is totally out of bounds. And it is so degrading that this proposal is only implied for the lower classes. And even countries that are tempted by Malthus suffer from the diminishing human sources and other countries now are encouraging child-bearing to limit population decline. How ironic.

The anti-life and anti-family advocates still pursue the decrease of population, which they think that it’s the solution for economic growth and development. And yes, it questionable that the anti-life and anti-family advocates didn’t give a push to comprise the Senate Bill 319 which seeks to ban abortive drugs and devices if they are really concern of the society. They might want to advocate abortion too.

Everybody should understand that poverty is not only caused by overpopulation and reducing population is not he aid to economic crisis. For an instance, how can you explain the crises that are taking place in some countries that have less population density? Poverty is caused by o lot of issues in the economy. The status economic of a country depends to the continuous economic flow and not just arguments about population. There are so many factors to consider here. Like in our country today, the best thing to pay attention to is the government and their governance. If the graft and corruption would not be aided for as soon as possible, success will remain elusive.

The decline in population can also bring disaster to a country. It may even contribute to poverty because there would be less labor force.
